Ever since she was a wee tyke running through the meadows in her twirly skirt with her teddy hanging out of her backpack Aidan has loved the mountains. With her family, friends and colleagues she rejoiced in the beauty and challenge of rock and snow.

An avalanche in the mountains near Fernie, BC took Aidan's life when she was at work doing something simple and normally safe as part of her job as a ski guide, collecting data at a weather station. Her beloved partner Sean Easton, her cherished sister Rowan and her parents Colin and Mab hold tight to the light, love and joy that Aidan embodied as do our families and friends in Canada and Australia.

In Fernie and Vancouver we have been supported, cared for, held and hugged by a vast and loving circle of friends and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts. Thanks also to the many who joined us for the Celebration of Aidan's Life on Sunday February 19, 2006 in Vancouver and to those near and far who have sent us caring messages by mail, email and phone.

This website is a 'memory book' for Aidan's partner, family and friends. If you would like to contribute to it please send messages and photos directly to the family at moloman@shaw.ca.

In her honour the family has established the Aidan Oloman Fund with Vancouver Foundation. The fund will continue the work she believed in, empowering young people, especially women to gain physical and personal strength through outdoor pursuits.
